Beginning Argentine Tango
Find your core stability, better balance, and enjoy low-impact exercise while studying The Argentine Tango! After a targeted warmup, expert instructor Rebecca Rorick Smith will guide you through Tango basics including: essential Lead/Follow communication, Tango Music, and some iconic movements like the Caminada, La Cruzada, Ochos, and Paradas. The end of the series will include a mini “Milonga” or Tango dance event. This incredible improvised social dance has its roots in Buenos Aires from the early 20th century but has evolved and spread to encompass a huge worldwide community. Tango is an excellent way to meet new people, communicate non-verbally, exercise, experience a mind/body challenge, and most importantly have a lot of fun! No previous dance experience needed and no partner necessary.
